I finally had a chance to realign my personal domain over the weekend. Taking the "real artists ship" approach, I decided to live redesign this version, which turned out to be a great decision. I found myself constantly pushing little updates throughout the past two weekends, which helped me focus on what was really important. It forced me to make conscious decisions to keep the project small, simple, and clean.
For the first time in over four years, I ditched Wordpress in favor of Anchor. I had a love affair with with Wordpress while running Two Giraffes, but Ive moved on to smaller & better things. I decided to use anchor because I wanted a super-simple, lightweight blog system with Markdown support. This iteration of my site is also my first mobile first & responsive version.
I focused on simplicity for version three of my personal site. I consolidated domains ( no more blog.tonigemayel.com), stripped out commenting, and ditched clunky Wordpress.
